Ya habia introducido un poco de la historia de este territorio pero ahora me gustaria comentar sobre su futuro. Su principal actividad economica son los Casinos y promete convertirse en Las Vegas de Asia. Actualmente hay como 18 casinos pero estan construyendo varios otros, incluyendo el MGM. Este lugar esta adquiriendo fama con los turistas japoneses ya que gustan de apostar. incluso hay un vuelo directo Fukuoka-Macau. En estos casinos los juegos son un poco diferentes a los de las vegas. La recomendacion es saberse retirar cuando se va ganando.

I gave an introduction to Macao, but now I will like to talk about the future of this Chinese territory. The main economic activity are the Casinos and it will become the “Las Vegas” of Asia. Now there are about 18 casinos but they are building sme more including the MGM. This place his becoming popular with japanese that like to bet. Even there is a direct flight Fukuoka-Macao. In these casinos some games are different from Las Vegas but the main recomendation is to retire when winning.

Tuvimos solo un dia libre en Hong Kong, lo que nos dio oportunidad de visitar Macao. Este territorio fue colonia portuguesa por casi 450 años y fue entregada a China en 1999. Al igual que Hong Kong matendrà cierta autonomìa y su moneda es tambièn el “Hong Kong Dollar”. El viaje dura casi una hora en ferry y es como visitar otro paìs distinto. Te llenan el pasaporte con sellitos de entrada y salida de HK y de Macao. El territorio consta de una parte peninsular y 2 islas, conectadas por 3 largos puentes. En general se puede apreciar la mescla de culturas, por una parte iglesias cristianas y por otra templos chinos. La comida es muy buena.

We only had one free day in Hong Kong, so we went to Macau. This territory was a portuguese colony for almost 450 years and was given back to China in 1999. Like Hong Kong, it will keep some autonomy and their mony is also the “Hong Kong Dollar”. The trip is about one hour by ferry and it is like traveling to other country. They stamp the passport when going in or out of both. There are some large bridges that comunicate the territory. In general is interesting to see the mix of cultures, there are christinan churches and chinese temples. The food is very good.

La primera vez que escuche sobre el masaje de pies se me hizo un poco extraño, pero es una practica muy comun en Hong Kong (en especial para los turistas…). Ya que me convencieron a ir y me di cuenta que no solamente son sobaditas, sino que realmente varias terminaciones nerviosas de todo nuestro cuerpo llegan a los pies y por este medio es como si nos dieran masaje en los organos internos y hasta en los ojos. Primero te ponen un valde de agua caliente para meter los pies, segun esto es para relajar los musculos pero creo que mas bien es por lo del olor jeje. Despues empieza lo del masaje y creanme que son alrededor de 40 minutos de intenso dolor… empeze quejandome diciendo “au, au, au” pero la del maseje me dijo que pensaba que me estaba gustando, porque en china hay que quejarse diciendo algo como “toun, toun, toun”. solo hay un momento cuando se siente bien y ese es cuando termina. Despues de la tortura china ya nos sentiamos ligeros! Por cierto que fuimos con nuestra amiga Ingrid.

The first time that I heard about foot massage I think it was something stange but there are many places for this in Hong Kong (especially for tourists). I was convinced to go and I saw that it has a fundamental theory that many nervius terminations are in the feet. They can give massage to the internal organs, inclusive to the eyes this way. First we put our feet in hot water to relax the muscle (and get rid of the odors hehe). Then the massage begins and it is 40 minutes of intense pain. I was making the sound of “ouch, ouch, ouch” but the person of the massage think that I was enjoyed it because in china they say something like “toun, toun, toun” instead. There is only one moment when it feels good and it is when it finishes. After the chinese torture we felt very light! Our friend Ingrid took us around.
